141 Report: New Leadership at Local 368
This week, the 141 Report travels via Zoom to sunny South Florida, to speak with the newly elected leaders of Local 368. President Tim Nestler, who began his career at USAirways in Pittsburgh in 1987, and Chris Willis, who spearheaded the IAM Safety Program at Spirit Airlines and has served as Grievance Chair since 2018, were recently elected President and Vice President.
The 800-member local represents workers from United, American, and Southwest Airlines in MIA, PBI, and FLL, Ramp Service workers at Spirit Airlines in FLL, and UGE members in EYW. Tim and Chris are focused on motivating more members to get actively involved in the union to form local committees and work on community service and other projects. The new leaders are encouraged by the turnout they saw in their election, where many local members voted in a union election for the first time.
Local 368 meets every second Wednesday of the month at 7:30 PM. The location for meetings varies to accommodate the membership that is spread out over several cities. Detailed information on meetings is posted on bulletin boards, and Tim and Chris personally welcome all inquiries. Feel free to give their Facebook Page a like and share!
