District 141 of the Machinists Union represents over 40,000 airline workers nationwide. Under the leadership of President and Directing General Chair Mike Klemm, the District ensures fair pay, respect, and job security through 12 collective bargaining agreements.

A Ramp Lead Agent from UA/JFK, Mike Klemm has been President and Directing General Chairman of District 141 since 2015.
Mike’s work alongside other union leaders has helped produce union contracts worth more than $6 billion for front-line workers in the airline industry. During his tenure as President, District 141 has added hundreds of new union members, improving union strength throughout the airline industry. This important work has forced all aviation-related employers to pay higher wages in order to attract new employees.
His work has not been limited to large airports. Mike has worked hard to ensure that smaller stations are not forgotten and that those who work anywhere in the system are not left out of the push for better paychecks and job security.
Since Mike Klemm has been President and Directing General Chair of District 141, not one union job has been lost to outsourcing. That’s over a decade of unmatched job protection. He has worked diligently to recapture work that had been lost before he became PDGC.
Mike is a native of New York and is married with four daughters.
